The last days of autumn

As you can see the leaves have blown away. Once the brilliant fall leaves are gone the landscape seems to mellow and the sky takes center stage. This photo was taken at our man-made dam.

Here's a photo when I was in the canoe. The dried plants on the shore were beautiful in the evening light. My mind is on wool dyeing these days, so I hope to try out some of these wild plants in a dye pot some day.
