Lambing has commenced and we have a winner!

Born May 17th to ewe "Windflower" and ram "Avens", a little 5 lbs. 6 oz. ram named Xavier.
The lucky guess of May 17th was made by several people.
I drew from those names and the winner is Kristen R. Because she is a felter and not a knitter Kristen will be receiving Wool Roving that I have Hand Painted.
The draw from all who entered the contest also has 2 winners - Susie at Area Knitter and the Gerongirls
They will be receiving sets of cards (with photos taken around Newland Ranch).
I've set my hat beside Xavier (pronounced ZAYvier) to show how tiny he is.

This is Windflower's first lamb and she really likes him. The two are getting along fine.
Thank you to everyone for entering contest, for reading my blog and for your kind wishes.
It's time to go out and see who is born next. There has been another black ram lamb born this morning and a set of white Corriedale twins.

Cute Lamb! So glad he's doing well. He's a lot smaller than ours. So far our smallest lamb this year is 6 lbs 1 ounce and our largest is 10 lbs 2 ounces with the average 7 lbs 8 ounces.

I just love your black sheep! Isn't it always a relief when first-timers take their lambs no problem? Can hardly wait for pics a month from now with about 20 of the little sweeties hopping around!
